FieldTrip basics

What does a FieldTrip cost my school?
Nothing. FieldTrip experiences are donor-funded and delivered at no cost to families or schools. Sponsors and individual donors cover the cost of facilitation, materials, and media.
Who can request a FieldTrip?
Teachers, school leaders, parents, and students can all raise their hand. Submit the Bring FieldTrip To My School form and our team follows up with next steps, timing, and what a day on your campus would look like.
Where does FieldTrip operate?
FieldTrip runs across the Wonderful Foundations network of 27 partner schools in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Ohio, with broader rollout planned nationwide.
Do experiences happen at our school or somewhere else?
Experiences come to you. FieldTrip is delivered on campus during the school day, so there are no buses to charter and no permission-slip logistics beyond your normal school policies.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Wonderful FieldTrip is a program of Wonderful Foundations, a nonprofit organization. Gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
How can a company sponsor FieldTrip?
Corporate partners fund entire experiences and receive recognition across events, film, and community storytelling. Start on the Sponsors page and our partnerships team will scope a fit.
How do you handle student photos and video?
Schools decide what gets shared beyond the classroom. Filming follows consent, students are never pressured to post publicly, and parent permission and photo consent are collected before a student participates.

Influence The Future

Can we still request Influence The Future?
This experience has completed its initial run at nine partner schools. Bring FieldTrip to your campus to express interest in future storytelling experiences — or support Design The Future and Positive Connection launching now.
Do students need their own social media accounts?
No. The focus is storytelling and personal brand skills. Any sharing beyond the classroom is optional and school-guided.
What devices are required?
One device per pair is ideal (phone or tablet). We can adapt with shared school devices or a photo-only track.
How is this different from a media class?
Influence The Future is a single immersive FieldTrip — high energy, hands-on, and designed to spark confidence in one memorable day with professional facilitation.

Design The Future

Is this aligned to school standards?
Yes. The program supports project-based learning, collaboration, communication, and applied STEM skills while emphasizing confidence-building through creating.
What if we have limited time?
The experience can be shortened or expanded based on your schedule and student needs.
Do students need devices?
One device per team is ideal for video reflection, but the program can adapt if needed.
How can my organization sponsor a trip?
Sponsors can fund a full school visit, underwrite transportation for underserved campuses, or support the program launch. Visit our sponsors page or donate directly — we’ll recognize partners who make these trips possible.

Positive Connection

Which grades can participate?
Positive Connection is designed for K–12. We adapt assembly length, workshop structure, vocabulary, and activities for early elementary, upper elementary, middle school, and high school.
How long is a typical visit?
Most campuses host a 45–90 minute assembly plus optional grade-banded workshops. FieldTrip works with your bell schedule to fit the experience.
Is this only for schools in crisis?
No — the program is proactive. Schools use it to strengthen culture, prevent isolation, and give students practical tools before conflicts escalate.
How does fundraising work?
Wonderful FieldTrip is raising a launch fund so partner schools can access subsidized visits. Sponsors can give to the Positive Connection campaign or fund a specific campus through Wonderful Foundations.

Build The Future

Is this only for students who want to skip college?
No. Build The Future is about expanding options. Many trades professionals pursue further education, certifications, or business ownership. The goal is informed choice — not limiting anyone’s path.
Is it safe for students to use tools?
Yes. All stations are supervised by trained professionals with proper PPE, safety briefings, and age-appropriate activities. No student operates equipment without direct oversight.
Can this connect to our CTE program?
Absolutely. We coordinate with school CTE leads and local apprenticeship programs so the FieldTrip complements — not duplicates — what you already offer.
How can my organization sponsor a trip?
Trade unions, contractors, manufacturers, and foundations can fund a full school visit, underwrite transportation, or support the program launch. Visit our sponsors page or donate directly.
