Make Your Mark

Create something that represents you. Connect with someone you didn’t know. See how far one introduction can travel.

Students transform a Carhartt canvas into a statement of identity — then earn Hartts through real conversations and watch a nationwide map of connection grow. Don’t collect followers. Collect introductions.

Program Overview

Make Your Mark is a proposed in-school FieldTrip. Each student receives a Carhartt backpack or canvas piece, personalizes it with approved materials, activates a moderated digital avatar card via QR, then earns Hartts by meeting peers and answering prompts together. Carhartt makes the canvas. Students make it theirs.

Create

Turn a durable Carhartt essential into something no one else could have made.

Discover

Use design to uncover the interests, values, and dreams that make you you.

Connect

Collect real conversations — and watch your community grow across the country.

What students leave with

  • A personalized Carhartt canvas they carry every day
  • A safe digital self — not a public social feed
  • Hartts earned through real introductions
  • A visible sense of belonging on a growing national map

Why Students Will Care

  • Customizing like game avatars — but on something real
  • Decorating gear they already love (packs, straps, patches)
  • Scanning, unlocking, and collecting achievements
  • Watching a shared map light up in real time
  • Meeting people through play — not a lecture

Two-Hour Run of Show

Every minute is budgeted for energy, not speeches.

  1. 0–10 min

    Arrival: What do you carry?

Creative launch vibe. Kit, Hartt Clip (QR zipper tag), activation code. Opening prompt — then the challenge.

  2. 10–25 min

    Discover your mark

Fast identity prompts: cares, talents, symbols, places, dreams — fuel for the design.

  3. 25–65 min

    Create your Carhartt

Patches, fabric markers, modular panels. Express without compromising safety or structure.

  4. 65–85 min

    Create your digital self

Avatar, badges, short statement, conversation starter. No open bios or private contact info.

  5. 85–110 min

    Collect Hartts

Meet, scan, answer a prompt together, confirm. Each earned Hartt expands the constellation.

  6. Final 10 min

    The reveal

School lights, connection lines, national map. Every mark has a story. Every connection makes the map bigger.

The canvas students carry

Durable Carhartt packs — Hamilton brown canvas, heavy zippers, a patch that already feels earned. Students start here, then make it theirs. Every kit includes a Hartt Clip so scanning is built in — not a sticker that peels off.

Hartt Clip — scan-ready with every pack

Instead of printing a fragile QR on fabric, each student gets a durable zipper clip: leather-feel tag, metal carabiner, and a scannable code on the front. Clip it on day one. Collect Hartts all year.

  • Clip-on carabiner — hangs from any zipper pull
  • School-issued QR unique to that student (moderated identity card)
  • Rugged enough for hallway life — not a paper sticker
  • Optional spare clip in the teacher kit for lost tags
Hartt Clip — a zipper-ready QR tag included with every pack
Concept mockup — included in every student kit, clips to the pack zipper.

Brand energy we’re chasing

Workwear that kids actually wear. Customization that feels personal, not corporate. The vibe is makers, packs, and marks — not a brochure.

Why Wonderful FieldTrip

Wonderful FieldTrip creates extraordinary educational experiences that help students discover possibility, confidence, and a larger view of their future — optimistic, human, and student-centered. Make Your Mark is designed in that same voice.

Safety by Design

  • School-controlled participation and teacher-managed rosters
  • Parent/guardian consent where required
  • Approved display names only
  • City/state region — never home address
  • No open direct messages or public contact details
  • Moderated uploads and reporting tools
  • Data minimization and clear retention
  • Alternative participation if a student cannot or will not be scanned

This prototype illustrates the experience concept. A production launch would require formal child-safety, privacy, legal, accessibility, and school-district review.

FAQ

Is this a live partnership?

No. This is an independent concept draft for discussion. Carhartt names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

What is a Hartt?

A Hartt is a genuine human connection earned after two students meet, scan, answer a prompt together, and both confirm. Not a vanity scan count.

How is this different from Built For The Future?

Built For The Future is a craft-crew lasting-build concept. Make Your Mark is about identity, personalization, and introductions. Two proposed Carhartt directions — pick what to pitch.

Will students message strangers online?

No open DMs. Cross-school activity is structured and adult-facilitated — challenges, moderated exchanges, classroom meetups.

What if every introduction left a mark?

A backpack begins as something a student carries. During this FieldTrip, it becomes a story, an invitation, and a reason to meet someone new.
